The Museum of History of Catalonia asked us to create a new image for the Summer Nights that are scheduled on Wednesdays in July and August. This year, the concert series will focus on the history of jazz with the name “100% Jazz, a century of history”. In addition to the graphic related to the concert series, we need to give the Summer Nights at the Museum of History of Catalonia their own identity through a brand.

To create the ‘Summer Nights’ brand we based ourselves on one of its elements visible from the outside: the chimneys. On the one hand, the cycle takes place on the roof of the Museum of the History of Catalonia where the chimneys are present and on the other, the figure they suggest is very similar to the icon used to designate the volume of the music.

In order to develop the graphic for the ‘100% Jazz, a century of history’ cycle, we asked ourselves: how can we capture moments in the history of jazz that will never return? Well, through photography, a small moment of explosion, of feeling, of originality. We created a graphic with the image of one of the icons of Jazz: the singer Maxine Sullivan. In some pieces we also added the image of the pianist Nat King Cole.
